Last week in “The Tempest,” Miranda had a scary encounter with Caliban. This week she meets someone new and VERY different.

  2. Construction paper
  3. White Glue
  4. Glue stick
  5. Scissors
  6. Pom Pom
  7. Hole Punch (optional)
  8. Googly eyes (optional)

Episode 4: It’s cool to be a fool…


In today’s “Shakespeare Snacks” video, we continue celebrating April Fools’ Day by learning all about the fool characters in Shakespeare’s plays. They are usually the wisest ones!

Craft your very own jester marionette as you learn!

*Keep your puppets and practice your best jokes! (We’ll need them for the next episode!)*

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Toilet paper roll
  2. Colored paper
  3. Yarn or string
  4. A pencil (or some sharp scissors to poke a hole)
  5. Beads
  6. One pipe cleaner
  7. Scissors
  8. Tape
  9. Glue stick
  10. Markers or crayons
  11. Thin dowel, chopstick, or pencil.
  12. Hole punch (optional)

Today we made our very own Magic Fairy Puppets!

This was the first episode of “Shakespeare Snacks,” snack-sized puppet Shakespeare videos released every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am.

*Be sure and keep your puppet to use in our special LIVE STREAM of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Thursday (3/26/2020) at 11am!* 

For this puppet craft, you’ll need:

  1. A toilet paper roll
